While designing my own classical tarots I went through very many traditional decks in order to see them through the eyes of those who use them, no matter for what purposes. And at some point the temptation became irresistible: why shouldn’t I create something new and still respectful of the spirit of the tarots?
Instantly the Steampunk style jumped to my mind: retro, ornate, slightly baroque, graciously humorous… what’s better to create the new but still traditional figures I had in mind?
Thus my irreverent temptation resulted in a fascinating unprecedented deck of tarots that, I confess, is my favorite.
Of course also the steampunk deck has a mirrored back and come in its own elegant cardboard casket. And this once signed by me 😀
