WOODCARVINGS
As a passionate old books collector I have been always fascinated by the illustration in them. The most beautiful to my eyes are the woodcarving artworks. I can’t believe that the authors of such masterpieces are seldom mentioned and identified – as if their work were a matter of course, something to be taken for granted. Their name is forgotten, faded in the past.
That’s the main reason that induced me to begin here a collections of antique prints, a small homage I dedicate to the memory of those unnamed artist by humbly restoring their works, cleaning them up, sometimes repairing the damages of the time and committing them in digital form to the web where everyone can enyjoy them.
